Still in the spirit of Formula 1
Monday, September 29, 2008 9:37 AM

I admit that I was yawning away during the last 30 minutes of the race. I couldn't help it. I was a lil sleepy but it did not stop me from watching the race. I was so excited and at 730PM last night all I wasnte to do was to switch on the TV and just stay there. This probably sounds bad but when Nelson Piquet hit the wall, I was delighted. I was delighted because I wanted to see how the other cars follow the safety car around till the lane is clear for racing. Last night's race was truly awesome and more than exciting. I was quite disappointed Kimi Raikkonen hit the wall with just four laps to go. I was hoping that Nico Rosberg was going to create a miracle and go fir first place but Fernando Alonso was too strong. Like the commentator said, Alonso was elegantly manouvering the circuit.

Here's news from yahoo.com:

Alonso wins drama-filled F1 Singapore GP

SINGAPORE (AFP) - Spain's Fernando Alonso won his first race in a year at the Singapore Grand Prix Sunday, taking the chequered flag in a drama-filled inaugural night race as a comical error cost Felipe Massa dearly.

It was the Renault driver's first victory since the Italian Grand Prix last year and capped a remarkable weekend that saw him top two of the free practice sessions but start 15th on the grid after a mechanical problem in qualifying.

He claimed his 20th career triumph by 2.95 seconds over Germany's Nico Rosberg in a Williams and Britain's world championship leader Lewis Hamilton.

Toyota driver Timo Glock was fourth with Toro Rosso's Sebastian Vettel following up his win in Italy this month with fifth. BMW Sauber's Nick Heidfeld took sixth.

"It is fantastic, I am extremely happy. I can't believe it right now and it will take a few days to realise what we have done," said Alonso.

"Winning had seemed impossible all season but we have been competitive all weekend. The car was super."

The race was a new experience for every driver on a street circuit under powerful spotlights and it turned out to be one of the most exciting of the season.

Despite dark clouds lurking, Singapore's notorious tropical downpours stayed away and the whole race was run in dry, but hot and humid conditions.

Rosberg scored his best ever finish and was over the moon.

"The car felt pretty good and we knew we could be strong on this track and for once the luck went with us," he said.

Similarly, Hamilton was happy to get points while Massa didn't.

"I enjoyed driving here and I'm pretty happy," he said. "It was a tough weekend but we got some good points."

Ferrari's Massa started from pole but a disastrous mistake cost him the race and valuable points in his push for the world title.

His 13th place finish means he lags seven points behind Hamilton with just three Grand Prix left at Japan, China and Brazil.

The Brazilian was in the pits on lap 15 when he was given the green light and drove off with the fuel hose still attached to his car, leaving one of the pit crew floored and subsequently carted off in a neck brace.

Massa ended up sitting in his Ferrari at the end of the pit lane as the crew ran after him and managed to pull the hose free, but it ruined his chances. He was given a drive through penalty and rejoined in 18th place.

It was a miserable night for Ferrari with defending world champion Kimi Raikkonen ramming his car into the barriers with just four laps left.

"We could have finished first and second and it could have been different," said Massa, but he refused to blame the crew member who gave the green light too early.

"We are all human beings, everyone makes mistakes. I am not the sort of person who goes to a guy and fights with him."

The Massa drama occurred after the cars came in when Nelson Piquet careered into a wall, causing massive damage to his Renault.

He climbed out unscathed but the safety car was deployed.

Massa was leading at the time with Hamilton second but at the restart, Rosberg was in front and Alonso fifth.

But Rosberg was subsequently slapped with a 10-second stop-go penalty for coming into the pits before it had opened after the Piquet crash.

The complicated scenario saw Toyota's Jarno Trulli in the lead on lap 28 but without having pitted with Alonso second, Rosberg third and Hamilton sixth.

With Trulli taking his first pit stop soon after Alonso amazingly found himself in front just after the halfway mark.

He came in for his second pit stop on lap 41 and emerged just ahead of David Coulthard and Hamilton.

Remarkably, when Coulthard pitted soon after, he too drove off with the fuel pipe attached, knocking over a mechanic who was stretchered off.

There was more action to come.

Alonso was cruising with a 23-second lead when Adrian Sutil shunted his Force India into the wall, bringing the safety car out again and wiping out the Spaniard's advantage.

When they restarted with seven laps left it was a sprint to the finish and the two-time world champion made no mistakes.

Can't get enough
Saturday, September 27, 2008 11:38 PM

So the qualifying rounds ended and 11PM and I suddenly feel like I couldn't get enough. The Singapore Grand Prix gor me hooked and I'm loving it. Massa is in first place followed by Hamilton...how engaging is that. Massa trails Hamilton by 1 point from the previous GP.

Tomorrow is gonna be better and more exciting. I can hardly wait!!!

Go crazy...get excited!!!!!
3:59 PM

I don't know how the spirit of the race managed to run through my veins and swim through my blood stream but all I could get excited about is tomorrow's night race. I can't deny that what made me go ga-ga was Nico, Kimi and Lewis. And ya, I still couldn't understand how people can stand watching 61 laps and the roaring noises of a 300kmh FI car going round and round the street track.

I was walking along Orchard Rd, making my way to Far East Plaza to meet Atiqa on Monday. I spotted a gorgeous F1 car outside Paragon but it was crowded with people takin pictures of it. Then I saw one outside Marriott but it was bleh.

But I have a picture of this one which is made of chocolate, done by Royal Plaza.

Don't Apologize If You Don't Mean It
Monday, September 22, 2008 10:33 PM

I'm kinda pissed and impatient with people who say they are sorry but did what they were sorry for the the next day (you know I'm talking about you). It's like they are not sincerely apologizing for making someone angry, for screwing up and for not doing what they should be doing.

So do me a favour by apologizing sincerely, admiting that it is your mistake and offering to make it right.

Do it now!

Emotional Wreck
Thursday, September 18, 2008 10:51 PM

Everytime my heart started to race because of someone or something, it only lasted for a while because as soon I am up there, I came back down in a rush and whatever I was feeling earlier became a hole...hollow and empty.

Maybe I hope too much and I should stop.

Maybe I daydream too much and I should stop.

Maybe I think too much and I should stop.

Maybe.....

Love may fade like the season but some friendship is all year round

I've been feeling quite umotivated at work for the past few days and am trying to just go back to normal. How many times have I said "I need a break"?

In 7 working days I'm gonna get just that and I am really looking forward to it. Can't hardly wait!

A Deep Sleep
Tuesday, September 16, 2008 10:52 PM

No matter what I do, I always fall short. There is going to be someone who is better than me, who did something more than I did and is just better than I am. I always thought that whatever I did was enough and it will probably give me what I want. However it is always not enough. Someone will just be ahead of me and do impressive things to be more worthy than I am. The attention that I needed will divert to them and I am left with nothing.

I seriously needed a break, to be far away from everyting that has been weighing me down. I have to find a priority and most importantly, find something that will make me happy again. Well I'm no moody bitch....I just want to be able to wake up every morning and just feel happy, live happy and be happy. So I'm really looking forward for my long awaited trip to Turkey, to be able to just go far away for a while so liven up my inner soul. I really think that's what I need.

Meanwhile, I'll make do with some deep sleep (hopefull), with help from some camomile, jujube and hops. I'll put my eye mask on and go to sleep.

The heart of the matter
Monday, September 15, 2008 10:46 PM

Why should I waste my time thinking about people who don't have me running across their mind or thoughts once in a while. It's physicaly and emotionally draining and I should just stop.

6.Don't tell someone you will DEFINITELY miss them if you don't mean it.
7.Appreciate friendships because you never know when you really need them.
8.Don't keep things inside your heart for too long...let it out and youll be surprise how good it feels to do just that.

"In life, only one thing is certain apart from death and taxes – no matter how hard you try no matter how good your intentions you’re going to make mistakes, you’re going to hurt people, you’re going to get hurt, and if you ever want to recover there’s really only one thing you can say: I Forgive You."

How spot on is that? No matter what you do, you're going to end up hurt or you're going to hurt someone. Well who said life was easy?

"Forgive and forget- that’s what they say. It’s very good advice but it’s not practical. When someone hurts us, we want to hurt them back. When someone wrongs us we want to be right. Without forgiveness old scores will never settle, old wounds never heal and the most we can hope for is that one day we’ll be lucky enough to forget."

Let The Truth Sting
Saturday, September 13, 2008 11:04 PM

"Deep down nobody wants to hear it especially when it hits close to home. Sometimes we tell the truth because the truth is all we have to give. Sometimes we tell the truth because we need to say it out loud to hear really hear it for ourselves. And sometimes we tell the truth because we just can’t help ourselves. And sometimes we tell them because we owe them, at least that much."

Is it true that the truth usually is painful more than it is relieving? If it is so...why? Why does the truth sting?

Love/Addiction
Thursday, September 11, 2008 10:58 PM

Everytime I listen to Paramore’s ‘That’s What You Get’, I started to think “Hey that’s the shit!”

I wonder
How am I supposed to feel when you’re not here
Cause I’ve burned every bridge I ever built
When you were here
I still try
Holding on to silly things
I never learn
Oh why, all the possibilities
I’m sure you’ve heard

That’s what you get when you let your heart win
Woah
That’s what you get when you let your heart win
Woah
I drowned out all my sense with the sound of its beating
And that’s what you get when you let your heart win
Woah

As I walked to and fro from work my mind started to list out things about what I feel about certain things.

1.Do not say “Keep in touch” to someone who is going away. Because when you both say “Keep in touch”, you don’t. You may try but the other person just doesn’t.
2.When you realise that you are the only one making the effort to stay in contact, you have to quickly stop so that you won’t get hurt.
3.When you pledge to stop, you really have to stop. Stop thinking, stop wondering and stop daydreaming about what-could-have-been.
4.Learn to accept fate.
5.Try hard not too hard.

I will surely add more sooner or later and I’ll leave with another quote from Grey’s Anatomy.

"The thing about addiction is it never ends well because eventually whatever it is that was getting us high stops feeling good and starts to hurt. Still, they say you don’t kick the habit until you hit rock bottom. But how do you know you are there? Because no matter how badly the thing is hurting us sometimes letting it go hurts even worse."

You got a problem with a mean girl???
10:03 PM

Ok, something just happened and I thought that I should maybe write about it now before I forgot all of it.

So do you know how sometimes you revealed something about yourself that not other people know about? As in, you’re talking to someone you share things with (a.k.a A) and then some other person (a.k.a. B) interrupted you and start to join in the conversation. Then along the way as the three of you talked, you accidentally slipped out something about yourself that A does not know about and then A said “I didn’t know that about you” and you just shrugged and said “it just popped into my mind”.

The reveal may be something that is not sensitive however at times A felt like you just betrayed their trust in you. But hey, do think about it. Sometimes things just keep popping into your head and you just start to say “Hey do you know I actually have done this before?”

I mean when two friends talk, new things will be revealed about each of them and in some way you’re learning something new about that person. You’re not two five-year-olds at an imaginary tea party talking about the “dresses” that you’re wearing or about the “tea” you’re drinking. You are two adults, sharing a really great conversation and you want to lean more about the other person.

It’s as simple as that and I appreciate decent conversations.

A Change Is Gonna Come
Monday, September 08, 2008 11:00 PM

I like watching Grey's Anatomy because of the so called moral of the story at the end of every episode. I've started watching Season 4 online and I thought that maybe I should post every episode's quote from Meredith Grey

"Change – we don’t like it, we fear it. But we can’t stop it from coming. We either adapt to change or we get left behind. It hurts to grow and anybody who tells you it doesn’t is lying. But here’s the truth – sometimes the more things change the more they stay the same and sometimes change is good and sometimes change is everything."

Gossip Girl, One Tree Hill and Prison Break
Sunday, September 07, 2008 10:10 PM

So Season 2, Season 6 and Season 4 has started respectively and TV has just gone good. Waiting for Channel 5 to air it will make me so outdated. I'm so glad Mandey introduced me to Gossip Girl. My dehydrated 'The O.C.' life is now filled with the scandals from Gossip Girl.

And who would knew that after so many years I am still watching One Tree Hill. And yeah Prison Break latest season is online. Things are much more intriguing and casts are all the same PLUS there is a surprise!

I am in TV heaven!
